Hope is Restored

We live in a world where information is power and those who find the means to control it are pretty much in charge of everything. On the internet, information travels faster than anywhere else but it is also more vulnerable to those who have a devious agenda and the means to steal sensitive data. To understand the threats, we need to know what is spyware capable of doing to us and which are the methods criminals use to infiltrate a computer.

This malicious software is insidious enough to evade standard detection systems, and once it gained access to a computer, it will spread all over the place and corrupt files. Its behavior is similar to a virus’ but unlike those pests, spyware will not destroy information but pass it over to its creators. From that point onwards it only matters what these guys will do with it and in most cases, they use it against the owner, to steal money or disclose private data.

The damage can be substantial when companies are targeted, and it is known that worldwide businesses are losing billions every year. Any effective defense should start with determining what is spyware and how can it be denied access.
