Dont Overlook the Essence of our Existence – Go Green

Don’t we think it’s time to start caring about what brings us sustenance just like the way we make some practice part of our daily living? Sad enough, we are not thinking towards that direction. We tend to prioritize profit over survival.

We give preference to things that are of short-term in nature rather than the long term issues; then, we don’t even care about how we interact with what provides us daily care – the planet itself. I guess you know by now, that I’m referring to Mother Earth. It is easy not to remember Mother Earth. We only remember it when Earth Day is around the corner, and pushes it away from our minds as soon as the Day is gone.

It’s unfair to overlook this essence of our existence. Fortunately, the buzz phrase recently is ‘going green’, at least, an indication that it is trendy to be earth-friendly. When we prioritize how we look over our values, it becomes easy to lose focus of the fact that we are human, and we tend to be consumed with the urge to ‘interact’ rather than ‘use’. We are drowned in the pursuit of wanting people to perceive who we are (our achievements), instead of seeing ourselves as an aspect of relationship interaction – which is really how we can express who we are.

Now, how do we keep Mother Earth healthy with ease? Find out;

The basic way is to recycle – this is supposed to be the second natural thing to do, unfortunately it is not. I plead with you to make an extra effort to recycle and also include composting as part of the habit.

Favor the products from recycled sources more. For instance, you can go to eco-fashion – it means favoring quality garments that are durable and can last until the clothing items resurface again to the fashion scene. Some big names in the fashion world are also beginning to clamor for eco-fashion.

Yet another way; go to the grocery store with your own bag; you can find a wide range of petite patterns that you can easily tuck away in your handbag neatly. Insist on products that are not toxic, not just for the good for the environment, but for your own good also (health wise).

Your eating habit should be such that is earth-sustenance prone, and not earth exploiting. It’s wiser to buy groceries from your neighbor farmer, or from the local market.

Whole food or produce purchase that requires little or no packaging should be favored.
Consider refilling water bottles from the water filter rather than buying and piling up more plastic water bottles.
